As they pile taxes upon the citizenry, they seem to forget that a nation cannot tax itself into wealth, for, as I've observed, no man ever grew taller by being stretched. 

Solving the cost of living crisis must involve reducing taxes, cutting government spending, diminishing MPs' perks, and slashing the privileged salaries of the Houses of Lords and Commons by half. 

In a real democracy, the people are first, not the government.
